Ayur means "Life"

Veda means "Knowledge"

Ayurveda is a 5000 year old ancient sister science of yoga that originated in INDIA. It is a whole body approach and a medical system that manages your health by using the Ayurvedic principles.  We believe the "GUT" is our second brain, as it's attached to all of our essential organs. If we pay attention to the digestive system, we can support a balanced healthier body and mind.  WE ARE WHAT WE EAT! Due to our fast paced lifestyles we often ignore the bodies warning signs until our body repels. When this happens, we have no choice but to listen.

Ayurveda classifies every individual based on 3 types- Kapha (Earth), Pitta (Fire) and Vata (Air). We are all made of these elements and they are around us and within our bodies. Ayurveda aims at balancing these elements through specific diets, herbal remedies and routines, which are based on your constitution. Ayurveda identifies the source of the problem in the physical body and assists in maintaining a healthier mind, balanced diet  and life style.

BENEFITS OF AYURVEDA

Brings Harmony to your Mind, Body & Soul through Yoga practices, various meditation, pranayama (breath) techniques and healing modalities.

Balance out your DOSHAS and know your Mind-Body Constitution through Ayurveda to help maintain a healthier and happier balanced lifestyle.

Reduces stress and anxiety.

Improves sleep, memory, concentration, energy and your digestion system.

Stronger immunity, decreases colds and flus.

Healthier skin and slows down aging.

Much in the same way our minds lose focus, we stress. Working under pressure, as most of us do, aggravates vata and produces stress. This Vata imbalance affects the joints first and isn’t it so that we often first notice high stress levels by a sore, clenched jaws, shoulders and lower back? Ayurveda, through diet and lifestyle, alleviates stress. These practices improve Vata imbalance and soothe Pitta.

Preventative care. So much of western medicine is focused on the treatment of disease. While western medicine struggles to catch up to the ancient wisdom of preventive care, Ayurvedic medicine has for thousands of years offered practitioners the means to maintain health and stave off disease. By attuning our diets and lifestyles to our unique constitutions, we maintain the balance within ourselves that maintains good health. The best way to combat disease is to stay well in the first place.

From my own personal experience, I practiced Ayurveda during my battles with stage 4 cancer twice and a stroke, and continue to practice it daily.
